Privacy Policy

KC Solar Solutions respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, phone lines and shops, how we use it and the choices you have. It is written to comply with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.

1Information we collect

  • Contact details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, district, town and installation address.
  • Details of your energy needs: the appliances, usage hours and system preferences you enter in the Solar Calculator, plus the requests, quotations and orders that result.
  • Support conversations, including messages, attachments and call notes.
  • Technical information: your device type, browser, pages visited and the steps completed in the calculator, collected through a first-party visitor cookie so we can improve the website.

2How we use your information

  • To design, quote, deliver and install your solar system and to provide after-sales support and warranty service.
  • To verify your phone number with a one-time SMS code before a request is submitted or tracked.
  • To send you service messages by SMS or email about your request, quotation, order, delivery or installation.
  • To understand how customers use the website so we can simplify it. Analytics are aggregated and never sold.

3Sharing

  • We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the people needed to serve you: our staff and installers, our SMS and email providers, delivery partners for your address and contact number, and banks or mobile-money providers when you choose to pay through them.
  • We may disclose information when required by Ugandan law or a lawful request from a competent authority.

4Retention and security

  • Request, quotation, order and installation records are kept for the life of your warranty and for the period required by tax law (at least seven years).
  • One-time verification codes are stored only as a hash and expire within minutes. Analytics data is kept for up to 24 months.
  • Access to customer records is restricted to authorised staff, logged, and protected with role-based permissions. Phone numbers are masked for staff who do not need them.

5Your rights

  • You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to marketing messages, by contacting us using the details below. We respond within 30 days.
  • Marketing messages are optional: reply STOP to any promotional SMS or use the unsubscribe link in an email.

6Cookies

  • The website uses a session cookie to keep your basket and calculator progress, a CSRF cookie for security and a visitor cookie for first-party analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
