Warranty Policy

Every product we sell carries a manufacturer warranty and every installation we carry out is covered by our own workmanship warranty. This page explains what is covered, for how long and how to make a claim.

1Product warranties (typical)

  • Solar panels: 10 to 12 years product warranty and a 25-year linear performance warranty (at least 80% output after 25 years), per manufacturer.
  • Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries: 3 to 10 years or the rated number of cycles, whichever comes first. Gel and lead-acid batteries: 12 to 24 months.
  • Inverters and charge controllers: 12 months to 5 years depending on the brand. The exact period is printed on your quotation and invoice.
  • Solar lights, pumps and accessories: 6 to 24 months as stated on the product page.

2Workmanship warranty

  • Installations by KC Solar Solutions are covered for 12 months from commissioning against faults caused by our workmanship: loose connections, cable damage, incorrect configuration or roof leaks at our mounting points.
  • During this period we repair the fault free of charge, including labour and transport within our serviced districts.

3What is not covered

  • Damage caused by lightning without the surge protection we recommended, flooding, fire, theft or vandalism.
  • Modifications, repairs or additions made by anyone other than KC Solar Solutions, or connecting loads beyond the system's rated capacity.
  • Normal wear, cosmetic marks, consumables (fuses, bulbs) and battery capacity loss within the manufacturer's stated limits.
  • Faults caused by failure to follow the maintenance guide, for example never cleaning panels or repeatedly discharging batteries below the recommended level.

4How to make a claim

  • Open a support ticket online (category: Technical issue) or call us with your order or installation reference and a description or photo of the fault.
  • A technician will diagnose the issue remotely or on site. Approved manufacturer claims are handled by us on your behalf; you do not need to contact the manufacturer.
  • Keep your invoice and the hand-over report. Warranties are tied to the original installation address and owner unless transferred in writing.
